The Louisiana Department of Health has implemented a high priority healthy living initiative named Well-Ahead Louisiana. The goal of Well-Ahead Louisiana is to promote healthy behaviors (such as tobacco-free living, healthy eating, physical activity, and healthy work/life balance), all within the spaces and places in which we live and work every day. SWLAHEC Well Ahead Early Childhood Initiative works with early childhood centers and school districts to ensure their obesity prevention efforts align with recognized best practices.
